Meme 2006
Here's a meme (from sundry) to sum up my year:
1. What did you do in 2006 that you’d never done before?
I traveled to Germany and also to parts of Ireland I'd never seen before.
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t make resolutions. I do, however, make lists. Lots of lists. I keep my goals listed on 43Things.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Ramona, my cat. I had to put her down on October 5th.
5. What countries did you visit?
America, Germany, Ireland, England
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A job, more money, and a date sure would be nice.
7. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
See #4 above.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I initiated some flickr photo-meets.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not getting a job.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nope.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A screamin’ new laptop (Toshiba Satellite)
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Government. Both sides of the pond.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Basic survival, but most went to Visa and Student Loans.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Bringing my flatmate to Seattle—his first trip to the US, and playing tourist there for two weeks.
16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Superman- It’s Not Easy (by Five for Fighting)
17. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer?
I’m poorer (unemployed), but I’m thinner and I think strangely happier.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Traveled.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Whined. Oh, and smoked.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent it alone in a hotel room at the London Heathrow airport. Sounds sad, but it was actually fun. I stuffed my face with yummy food and had a long soak in the tub, complete with the complimentary rubber ducky.
21. Did you fall in love in 2006?
Yes. With digital photography.
22. How many one-night stands?
Geez, you sure know how to kick a girl when she’s down. None, okay, not a one.
23. What was your favorite TV program?
Don’t have TV, but I did enjoy watching the Six Feet Under series on DVD. And Scrubs. I lurvs me some scrubs.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Nah, can’t waste time a hatin’.
25. What was the best book you read?
I’ve read 95 books, and listened to 35 audiobooks, so far this year. I’ll choose one from my classics list as the best book-- Something Wicked This Way Comes- by Ray Bradbury. This book made me feel childlike, complete with shivers and out-loud giggles. Pure joy reading this.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Pink Martini.
27. What did you want and get?
A “new” digital camera—the Canon Rebel, a very generous hand-me-down from MaryAnn (my little sister).
28. What did you want and not get?
A job.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
It’s a tie between Brokeback Mountain and Little Miss Sunshine.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 37 and I worked late that night.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Finding a new job. Actually, finding my passion would have been the best thing.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
So casual I’m in a coma.
33. What kept you sane?
I’d say my sisters, but I’m not so sure they succeeded.

Craig Ferguson. I need help.

The Bushtrocities.

My sisters, my dog, and my cat.
